PETE'S TEAM IN TRAINING WALT DISNEY 1/2 MARATHON PLEDGE PAGE

Dear Family, Friends and Colleagues:

Well, I’m at it again and I am asking for your help. As most of you know, I love to run and what better reason for doing it than this. Every five minutes someone in the United States learns that they have leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma----nearly 300 people every day! There are an estimated 640,000 Americans that are presently living with one of these diseases. My goal is to help in any way possible to eliminate this horrific disease.

I will be running in the Walt Disney World Marathon on January 6, 2006, and my goal is to raise a minimum of $3,500 by November 15th. I am running for the cure, because I BELIEVE…..I believe that there will be a cure for leukemia and blood-related cancers and I want to be part of making that cure possible. I am asking for your help by donating as much or as little as you can because every little bit can go a long way

I am not only doing this just for the society as a whole, I am also doing this in honor of a 5 year old girl named Katia. She’s a beautiful little girl that has only known leukemia in her short life. She was diagnosed with having AML in April of 2002 and has been battling this disease for the last two years. She recently had a bone marrow transplant and is doing great. Still, day in and day out she is fighting this horrific disease. I am making it my mission to do whatever I can to help her and the many others like her. I can not do it alone and I am asking for your help.

TEAM IN TRAINING members have dedicated this event to all of the adults and children whose lives have been touched by this disease. Training for this event has become a celebration of life. I sincerely thank you and ask for your continued prayers for those fighting these diseases.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services. The Society's mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Since its founding in 1949, the Society has provided more than $358 million for research specifically targeting blood cancers.
